The Valley Club of Montecito is a private club, whose members enjoy golf, participation in social activities and each other's company.  Because you are  a guest of a member, we want you to enjoy a memorable golfing experience.  To ensure a full measure of enjoyment, please observe the following guidelines.

COURTESY

The use of cell phones is prohibited on Club grounds except inside vehicles and for medical emergencies.  Smoking is not permitted in the Clubhouse or the Golf Shop.  Pets are not allowed anywhere on The Valley Club premises.  Shoes and apparel should not be changed in the Club parking lot, please use locker room facilities to change your shoes, etc.  A guest may not invite additional guests to the Club.

THE VALLEY CLUB OF MONTECITO DRESS CODE

 

This Dress Code is established, in part, to ensure the common enjoyment of the Club and to maintain long-standing traditions and standards.  Because it is difficult to foresee fashion trends, we ask that you use your common sense judgment in applying this Dress Code.

 

ENTIRE CLUB PREMISES

Gentlemen’s shirts, at a minimum, must be collared and tucked in with the exception that at the tennis courts shirts may be un-tucked.  Body markings, such as excessive tattoos, should be covered and facial rings other than earrings are not permitted.  Jeans, denim (other than women's white denim), cut-offs, warm up and exercise suits, football jerseys, shirts with large insignias, short shorts, swimwear, sandals and flip-flops are not acceptable.  Caps with bills must be worn forward.

 

GOLF COURSE DRESS CODE

Ladies may wear golf shirts, tailored slacks, capris, cropped pants, skirts, skorts and Bermuda shorts (no shorter than 6 inches above the center of the knee).  Golf shirts should be tucked in unless specifically designed to be worn outside of clothing.  If worn outside of clothing, no midriff shall be exposed.  Clothing not permitted  includes leggings, stirrups, warm-up suits, nylon jog shorts, tank tops or any other abbreviated clothing.

 

Gentlemen may wear collared golf/sport shirts or long sleeved turtlenecks with tailored slacks or Bermuda shorts (no shorter than six inches above the center of the knee).  T-shirts, short sleeved mock turtlenecks, tank tops, warm-up and exercise suits and open sandal type golf shoes are not permitted.

 

TENNIS DRESS CODE

Proper tennis attire is required.  Non-scuff tennis shoes and collared tennis shirts (men), and socks are required.

 

LIVING ROOM, DINING ROOM AND INNER COURTYARD

Golf attire is acceptable during the day up until 6:00 p.m.  After 6:00 p.m. Collared shirts are required for men.  Exceptions may be made for theme events or private parties.

 

TERRACE/MEN’S GRILL/LADIES’ GRILL

Golf and Tennis attire are appropriate at all times unless a special event dictates otherwise.

 

CHILDREN

Boys and Girls over the age of twelve must follow the adult dress code set forth herein.  Parents will be responsible for their children under twelve with respect to their attire, conduct, behavior and decorum.
